On June 13, 2016, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the US and Canada in collaboration with the executives and members of the “Society of International Business Fellows” (SIBF) and members of the “Central Eurasia Leadership Academy” (CELA) presented the project on assisting children’s hospitals in Kyrgyzstan.
During the presentation to an audience of business people, leaders and experts in the field of development, as well as representatives of US government agencies, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the United States and Canada K.Toktogulov spoke about the overall achievements of Kyrgyzstan, including the modern history, culture, tourism opportunities, as well as the growing investment opportunities for foreign investors and entrepreneurs.
Turning to the presentation of a new project, Ambassador K.Toktogulov informed that “PASS Works” is fully engaged in implementation of this healthcare initiative. In February 2016, as a first step, the representatives of the organization Dr. Jose Mosquera and Cassondra Puls conducted an exploratory visit to Kyrgyzstan to provide a preliminary evaluation and needs assessment for two main children’s hospitals in Kyrgyzstan. The results of this exploratory visit were presented on June 13. In their presentation J.Mosquera and C.Puls talked about the main challenges in surveyed hospitals of Kyrgyzstan, which require attention and solution.
The main objective of this joint Kyrgyz-American project is to attract American and Kyrgyz partners to assist the two key children’s hospitals in Kyrgyzstan – the National Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Cancer Center/National Center for Oncology – to solve the problems of pediatric health care in Kyrgyzstan. J.Mosquera and C.Puls presented concrete proposals of ensuring sustainable and ongoing support to these children’s hospitals.
